1. SAFETY / SECURITY

The Triangle Farm CID held their eleventh joint operation on Thursday, 15 December 2011. Five fines were issued for people crossing the railway line, seven for drinking in public and one for public indecency. The CID would like to thank all the members from the SA Police Service, Railway Police, Traffic Services, Metal Theft Unit, Anti Land Invasion, GBS and ADT Security for all their support and dedication in 2011.

During the festive season GBS Security will be patrolling the area with one vehicle on the day shift and two vehicles in the night. Please contact the patrol vehicles directly to report an incident, or if you need assistance at your business premises on the following numbers:

2. FENCING

Metrorail fence: (Uranium Road)

The CID has completed 650m of the flat wrap razor wire at the top and bottom of the Metrorail fence including angle iron at the bottom of the fence. The remainder 245m will be completed in the new year.

The CID experienced problems with people entering the area behind Chris Steytler in Uranium Road and burning copper wires under the bridge. This was also an escape route for criminals. The CID erected a fence (17m) and enclosed this section with 2m high beta fence panels, including flat wrap razor wire at the top and bottom of the fence.

Transnet fence: (Reactor Road)

Transnet has completed the first phase of their fence in September 2011 and will continue with the next phase in April 2012.


3. WINNERS OF CID COMPETITION 2011

The CID would once again like to congratulate the winners for 2011 that were awarded at the Triangle Farm CID’s Annual General Meeting held in November 2011. Floating trophies were awarded for the following categories:

“Neatest building” trophy: Awarded to Mr. F. Arnott from Cool Maintenance. (04 NB02)
Runner-up trophy: Mr. P. Kroon from Belmet Marine. (05 NB08)

“Best garden” trophy: Mr. C. Bellingam from Bellingam Engineers. (06 BG06)
Runner-up trophy: Mr. T. Smit from Stikland Auto. (07 BG07)

The “CID Board Trophy” was awarded to Mr. C. Munro (Transtech) for his outstanding service and valuable contribution towards the goals of the CID.

Outstanding service delivery trophies were awarded to the following people from the City of Cape Town:

Ms. Norma Lucas: City Parks
Mr. Kenny van der Merwe: Roads & Stormwater
Mr. Neil Couert, Mr. Michael Ngomei: Solid Waste

“Security officer of the year” trophy was awarded to Mr. Chris Pace from GBS Security.

The CID Manager would like to thank the directors, Mr. Marius Claassen (Chairman), Mr. Peter Bauer, Mr. Chris Munro, Mr. Tony Meyer and Me. Nelia Jansen for their time rendered to the Triangle Farm CID and their valued and ongoing support.
